Beskrivelse
The X-rummet is The National Gallery of Denmark’s experimental stage for contemporary art where, twice a year, artists are invited to create new exhibitions especially for the museum.
Over the next three years, six artists will exhibit in the X-rummet’s space, all of them with artwork reflecting on, and challenging how gallery and museum spaces function in relation to artwork in general.
The identity consists of six X’s executed with different types of lines within the same dimensions, each one representing one artist's participation. These graphic elements are used actively in the permanent exhibition where artwork was borrowed for the X-rummet’s exhibition.
The stairs leading up to the gallery space are decorated with a pattern of different X’s and functions as a communicator, featuring foil-text about the artist. The exhibition folders are contained in a wooden box placed exactly where a graphic X would be in the pattern.
