Opening exhibition at the Danish Architecture Center
Visual and spatial concept and communication for installations in the opening exhibition at the Danish Architecture Center’s new facilities in BLOX.
The installation ‘This is how we live’ is curated around the fact that in 2018, 50% of Danes live in rental homes, 50% live in owned housing which is unique to the Danish housing scene. The visual concept in this room is to divide the entire room in two halves in the red and white colors of the Danish flag, using this concept to communicate differences in values, statistics and consumption of tenants versus owners.
The installation ‘Denmark is how Denmark lives’ is a 27-meter-long time line wall, overloaded with significant events in society, groundbreaking inventions, important voices and innovative housing architecture from 1850 until today. The concept of the wall is to layer content, creating an immediate experience of approximately 150 years of global and Danish architecture history seen from a distance, and at the same time giving the audience the possibility for an in-depth study by moving up close to the wall.
