We created the design and layout for the book, “Damer der var for meget” (in English “Women Who Were Too Much“) by Sara Alfort. The book was a collaboration between Gads Forlag (Gads Publishing) and the Golden Days Festival 2022, where the annual theme was "Trail Blazing Women".

The book pays homage to an array of wild, fantastic and brilliant Scandinavian women that made their mark between the years of 1884 and 1919. It tells the story of how each of them boldly took on the world and made no apologies for who they were and what they were about. It’s because of women like them that the women’s suffrage movement took place, and why we have the society we do today.

Our objection was to truly capture the spirit of these women, and their movement, through the design of the book – to express their over the top, larger than life characters, and the important impression they left on the world. Through the use of the bold green colour and the elegant typeface, we created a loud, proud and feminine voice that could capture people's attention and tell the stories right.

Throughout the book we used the beautiful Five type family. A typeface created for the editorial world, perfectly balancing character and legibility.
