The story of Fanø Skibsrom / Ships Rum is not only about good craftmanship, a family adventure or unique local ingredients. It is also a recognizion of more than 300 years of cultural heritage.

Rum from the Caribbean was for centuries an important part of the sailors’ provisions on the large sailing ships, making them able to withstand the harsh conditions at sea. Fanø Skibsrom is based on a rum distilled in Jamaica and subsequently seasoned with natural, local ingredients and stored in port wine casks on Fanø.
Fanø Skibsrom is both historical and far-sighted, international and local at the same time.

The Fanø Skibsrom range consist of 3 Rums: Havfruen, Havmanden and Gunpowder, all offered in various bottle sizes and as gift boxes. All products have been redesigned.
The ambition for the new design was to take the customers on a journey back in time, as a hommage to 300 years of shipping - and 300 years of rum transport across the Atlantic. Every aspect of the design harks back to the life at sea: maritime cards, artistic vintage engravings of sea creatures, a smoke-smelling rope around the bottle neck. Logo and graphic elements are inspired by ships ornaments.
The shape of the bottle has also been liftet straight out of the history books.
Interestingly enough, Fanø owns the ‘Skibsrom’ / ‘Ships Rum’ designation, making Fanø´s Skibsrom the only ships rum at all. The distillery literally owns 300 years of ships rum tradition. Distilled and bottled.
