A distinct typeface for a distinctive brand in the retailer space. This year we created a custom typeface for the new 365discount by balancing old retail-customs with a modern attitude. The heavy and somewhat bulky weights of the typeface draw inspiration from handwritten signs which historically would stand outside of stores and grab the attention of shoppers by advertising the ‘daily offer’. In doing so, the 365 typeface reflects the craftsmanship and care of retailers whilst providing an element of familiarity for shoppers. To further balance the typeface’s expression with the optimistic and inviting nature of the 365discount brand, the typeface features rounded edges. The result is a typeface which greets shoppers at eye-height: it’s attention-grabbing, familiar and friendly.
