PLAYTHING portrays the planet as something sensitive being handled without consequence. Encased in glass and held by a child, the image reflects a collective immaturity in how something profoundly valuable is treated as if it were a toy. The visible wear on the glass suggests that this is not the first time it has been mishandled. Created as a call for humanity to grow up and acknowledge the weight of our actions, the work encourages a shift from passive consumption to active responsibility. The piece was created to promote International Mother Earth Day and to remind us that the future of our planet depends on how seriously we choose to treat it now.
