PROBLEM:
Ethnicity pay gap reporting has been under Government discussion for nine years, but delay and pay secrecy keep inequality hidden, costing ethnic minority workers £3.2bn a year in lost earnings and undermining trust in workplace fairness.
SOLUTION:
To hold the UK government accountable and push for mandatory reporting, People Like Us launched Britain’s Ethnicity Bill, a digital tool that turned awareness into action, by allowing individuals to create their own personalised £3.2bn bills. By adding their names to the collective demand for change, and sharing them online, what was once a distant statistic became personal, shareable, and impossible to ignore.
RESULTS:
+1000 personalised bills were shared on socials
127 of MPs received emails nationwide
36 pieces of editorial coverage including The Times UK, and Stylist Magazine UK
3.5 million combined audience reach
26.9% LinkedIn engagement rate (far exceeding platform benchmarks for public policy and advocacy content)
24.4% click-through rate, demonstrating clear public intent to learn more and participate
