Bestseller’s JACK & JONES Frontline app revolutionizes the wholesale fashion purchasing process
How do you recreate the visual and tactile showroom experience of a menswear brand in an iPad app? That was the challenge facing us, when Bestseller asked us to challenge the notion that you can’t sell to wholesalers without direct contact with the product. Bestseller’s vision was to transfer the entire physical retail and wholesale purchasing experience of its JACK & JONES brand to a single digital platform.

JACK & JONES is sold in over 1000 retail stores in 38 countries, and via 1000s of wholesalers worldwide. With more than 200 collections available each year, wholesale buyers have to make frequent trips, and for some, travel long distances to one of JACK & JONES’ many showrooms to view and order items from its eight sub-brands.
The disruptive solution
To recreate the physical showroom experience, users login to their very own showroom. After a trend and catwalk presentation, users access their unique showroom, which contains products and outfits created by country managers based on the buyers’ budget, and local style and size preferences.
To truly make the app showroom tangible, high definition close-ups visually convey the experience of actually touching the fabrics. High quality video is used extensively to present the story behind each collection, and the latest menswear trends. And catwalk footage of the outfits on models, as well as in-store display instructions complete the showroom experience.
The checkout process directly links to JACK & JONES’ ordering system. And right up until dispatch, buyers can amend their orders. This is extremely important, as it enables buyers to adjust their orders according to how stock is selling in their stores.
To make the solution as flexible as possible, the app works in offline mode too - online access is only required to send orders.
A revolutionized buying experience and stronger brand presence
A combination of digital technology, compelling visual storytelling, and experience design, the JACK & JONES app has transformed the company’s entire value chain and enabled Bestseller to regain complete control of the brand’s DNA.
A buying process that previously took one day each month can now be completed in around 10 minutes. And as a training tool, the app is proving a powerful way to communicate the essence of the brand directly to retailers around the world.
Released in 2014, the app links the order process to design, production, and the accounting system. The result is a comprehensive reverse-e-commerce solution that streamlines a previously complex sales process, while revolutionizing the traditional fashion purchasing business model.
After downloading the app:
1. Type in the following username and password

2. Choose a 4 digit code
3. Confirm the 4 digit code
a) Market: “DENMARK (Jack & Jones)”
b) Currency: “Danish Krone (Denmark)”
c) Brands: “Core”, “Originals”, “Premium”, “Tech”, “Vintage”
d) Press “Continue”
5. To see examples of content, press one of the collections called “DROP” under one of the 5 brands. The app will then download that collection (a progress bar of the download can be seen under the chosen “DROP”).
6. Select budget
- Press “No budget”
- Then press “Confirm”
