Hus Forbi is a monthly newspaper sold by homeless people all over Denmark. It gives the purpose, and they are involved in every step of the process around the publication of the paper. And the remake of their website.
On central principle in the “Hus Forbi” project is for buyers of the paper to meet the sales people. Because that meeting instills empathy and perspective. It bridges a gap between people not directly affected by homelessness, and those that - through a twist of faith have been forced to live on the streets and scramble to get through every single day.
We wanted the website to reflect this. To provide a digital meeting between the “Hus Forbi” sales people, and the users of the website. This was achieved through the production of extensive portraits that shows the daily lives of each sales person, while you listen to their story, as told by themselves. They even put their signatures on the portraits in their own handwriting, bringing the truly personal stories to life.
