Beskrivelse
The Royal Danish Collection brings together Denmark’s living and historical castles — places where the country’s royal history is preserved, experienced, and brought to life. From grand halls and magnificent art to the Crown Jewels, it tells the story of the Royal Family across centuries.
We developed a brand and communications platform that reflects the scale and richness of this institution. With a new name — Den Kongelige Samling (The Royal Danish Collection) — the change marks the evolution into one of Denmark’s largest cultural institutions, spanning Amalienborg Museum, Christiansborg Palace, the Hermitage Palace, Fredensborg Palace, Koldinghus, and Rosenborg Castle.
The new logo plays a central role in uniting these locations under one cohesive collection, creating a clearer hierarchy and a unified visual identity that celebrates the institution as a whole rather than individual castles.
Den Kongelige Samling’s logo creates a visual connection between historical design and modern aesthetics. Inspired by older typographic traditions, the logo uses ligatures, which are classic typographic elements that unite letters to create a cohesive and crafted expression. It becomes a timeless symbol for Den Kongelige Samling and functions as a tribute to Danish cultural heritage and craftsmanship.
