Beskrivelse
The web design system for Den Kongelige Samling is built directly from the brand identity. The shield and crown symbols scale from favicon to full layouts. The color palette with ten distinct colors drawn from the artifacts themselves appears in curated pairs throughout the site. Each page gets its own color combination that activates across typography and interface elements. Colors shift between visits, mirroring how returning to a physical museum reveals familiar works in new light.
The site is structured around the concept of oplevelser—experiences. Every interaction creates a sense of occasion: page load introduces content that gradually fades in, establishing an inviting atmosphere. Scroll behavior reveals content progressively, creating rhythm and anticipation. Page transitions activate the color palette dramatically, making navigation feel like moving between palace rooms. Micro-interactions extend to individual CTAs, where even the smallest gesture is part of the experience.
The design system maintains its sensory quality across all devices and consistent page templates create recognition across content types: exhibitions, themes, locations, and collection objects, while inviting deeper exploration.
The result is a website where every detail creates an atmosphere where history comes alive.
