Dansk Arkitektur Center
Beskrivelse
In spring 2018, Danish Architecture Center were moving to their new home: the contested BLOX building designed by OMA, the acclaimed architectural office directed by Rem Koolhaas. As the building is quite complex, there was an urgent need to bring orientation and clarity to the many visitors visiting DAC.
Together with the DAC design team we explored ways to create an intuitive and flexible wayfinding and an appropriate signage design. From the start we agreed to pursue a folio solution that would be simple, operational and easy to change according to development in visitor flows and operations.
Our concept is mega graphic to a mega building – answering to the scale and power of BLOX, while still leaving the building as untouched as possible. As a supplement to the large, expressive signage, we created a second, subtler layer with additional, secondary information.
